Stephen M. Kirkland, Esq. is a senior attorney with the law firm Roseman Law, APC, in its San Diego office.
Mr. Kirkland has over seventeen (17) years of legal experience in the common interest development field, including an expertise in assessment collection and general counsel. He assists clients with wide-ranging legal matters, including compliance; governing document drafting, restating, interpretation, and enforcement; board governance; dispute resolution; and construction defect claims.
Mr. Kirkland has a particular knack for explaining complex legal issues in an understandable format, and brings this skill to his interactions with our clients. Ever-willing to assist managers, boards, and others in the field, Mr. Kirkland has also been a featured speaker and presenter at numerous industry events and educational activities. He has been actively involved in the Community Association Institute (CAI) having served as a member and Chairperson on the Ambassador Committee for the Greater Inland Empire Chapter.
Mr. Kirkland received his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2001, where he graduated cum laude.
In his spare time, Mr. Kirkland plays and closely follows Rugby, a passion coming from his young days growing up in his native New Zealand. Mr. Kirkland brought his Rugby skills to the United States in the early 1990s to coach Dartmouth Women’s Rugby team to their first Ivy League Championship. Although a proud “kiwi,” following his stellar coaching experience, Mr. Kirkland decided to plant roots in San Diego and pursue his legal career.
