Steven Roseman

Steven A. Roseman is the founder and managing partner of Roseman Law, APC, a full-service real estate and business law firm specializing is Real Estate, Business and Common Interest Developments with offices throughout California.

Mr. Roseman has more than 28 years of experience in representing common interest developments, including homeowners’ associations and co-operatives in a variety of legal matters.  He serves as general corporate counsel, dealing with both transactional and litigation matters. Mr. Roseman has significant trial experience, trying more than twenty-six jury trials, bench trials and arbitration proceedings on behalf of his clients, and attended countless meditations.

Mr. Roseman has unique real estate and business experience.  In addition to representing common interest developments and property owners in all facets of real estate matters, he also has substantial knowledge in dealing with local governments, including City, County, Coastal Commission, and State agencies on behalf of his clients. He has also served as a commissioner on the Planning Commission and chaired the Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Calabasas.  Mr. Roseman has lectured extensively in this, and other areas of the law, both locally and at a National level. He is actively involved in legislative action at a State Level, addressing issues that directly impact common interest developments.     

Mr. Roseman also handles diverse real estate matters, ranging from easement issues and eminent domain disputes, and has drafted and negotiated all forms of transactional documents, including construction agreements, loan documents, finance legal opinions, and governing document restatements  In addition, Mr. Roseman has structured numerous business and real estate deals, including acquisitions, corporate entity formation documents, buy-sell/shareholders agreements, operating agreements, and other corporate and related documents.

Mr. Roseman is actively involved in numerous leadership organizations. He is a member of the California and Nevada State Bars and is an active member of the two most prominent trade groups in the common interest development arena—California Association of Community Managers (CACM) and the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Mr. Roseman serves on the faculty of CACM and lectures extensively all over California teaching CACM‘s C-CAM manager certification which includes the large-scale management certification, and high-rise management certification. For CAI, Mr. Roseman has served on the Board and the Past President for CAI Channel Islands.  In addition, he has served as the chair of the Mediation Steering Committee for CAI Greater Los Angeles.  He also serves as the co-chair for membership committee for CAI Coachella Valley chapter.  His involvement in the legislative action committee for CAI as a delegate for CAI’s California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC) earned him Emeritus status for CLAC.

Mr. Roseman has received “Speaker of the Year” Awards from various organizations. In 2016, Mr. Roseman was the recipient of the “William S. Dunlevy” Award for his article published in the CAI Channels of Communication, and the 2013 “Speaker of the Award” by the CAI-Channel Islands Chapter. Mr. Roseman has been nominated consecutively since 2014 to present as “Speaker of the Year” by the CAI-Orange County Chapter and in 2016 was selected as “Speaker of the Year” by CAI-National submitted by the Greater Los Angeles Chapter.  He also spoke at a national level at the ClioCon conference in Nashville, Tennessee, with approximately 5000 attendees, educating law firms on “growth management” and transitioning businesses, both technologically and culturally to the new world of virtual and hybrid working environments. 

Mr. Roseman has been selected each year since 2015 as a California “Super Lawyer”.  Super Lawyer is a rating for outstanding lawyers, selected by their peers for professional achievement, and less than 5% of attorneys achieve this recognition.

Mr. Roseman served on the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), an organization striving to find a cure for children and adults suffering from Type 1 diabetes.   In addition to other sports activities, Mr. Roseman is an avid runner, tennis player, and “Tough Mudder” competitor.  He has completed a number of half-marathon races and participated in the annual “Mudd Run” at Camp Pendleton together with the marines and other members of Roseman Law, APC, benefitting the Armed Forces Services and Wounded Warrior Project.
